Luqman Patel, a McGill University graduate with Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology, left his hometown of Toronto, Ontario, to take up his placement at the International Institute for the Developement of Citizenship, based in Anápolis, Brazil, on September 27, 2006.
He joined our other intern, Nicholas Trzeciak, on this project.
Like Nicholas, Luqman underwent orientation and language training in Anápolis before leaving to take up field tasks in Vitoria City in the Espirito Santo State.
In Vitoria, he will assist in establishing a national and international network between programs and projects by/with/for youth and the environment promoted by the United Nations system, the Brazilian federal government and other environmental foundations.
